B27 – Schedule of Events

This year’s Beezumph theme is “Celebrating 50 Years of Triples” and is part of the club’s programme of events for 2018 to mark the 50th anniversary of the launch of our bikes.

The format will be the same as last year, a two-day rally, with camping and vehicle parking available from Thursday night until Sunday.

Friday will give the opportunity to noise test your bike, then ride a “No Limit” track day (bookable separately) or participate in the organised ride out around the superb Anglesey highways and byways and beyond. In the evening, there will be an Autojumble of triple and other parts you didn’t realise you needed, then a short presentation of interest by our special guest this year Tony Jefferies  rounded off by the rhythm & blues band “Burning Black” bringing the proceedings to a close. There will be food available to purchase in the club house all evening.

Saturday will start early for track session riders with the compulsory sign-on and safety brief, more noise testing then all the track action will begin, truly a spectacle in itself. The merchandise stall will be open all day in garage 7-8, there will be a static display of interesting Triples, mainly based around our theme of “Celebrating 50 Years of Triples”. Other garages will contain exhibitions by the London Motorcycle Museum, the Racing Triple paddock, Les Whiston of Rob North Triples and other notables like George Pooley. The paddock too will have some unbelievable members bikes for you to drool over.

Following the track action, the visitors bike line up will gather in Parc Ferme/Track Rider Assembly Area. There will be a superb display of all the Triple genres with trophies given for the best in each class. A fantastic photo opportunity. Then the raffle draw with many great prizes which have been donated by our sponsors, all proceeds go into club funds so dig deep!

On to the evening, it’s party time! The BBQ is again included in the Rally ticket price, the bar will be open, the band will begin. This year we are pleased to announce the 70’s rock band “Second Sons” to take us to a grand finale. Sunday is pack up and again a “No Limit” track day for those that want to enjoy the superb Anglesey circuit some more.

We are proud to announce that TT hero Tony Jefferies will be Guest of Honour for Beezumph 27 on July 13th & 14th. Tony will give a special talk covering his racing career on the Friday evening and present the event awards on the Saturday.

Tony Jefferies (born 24 April 1948) is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. However it was his success aboard the iconic triples on the Isle of Man that etched a place in the hearts of triple enthusiasts.

In 1969 Tony started a stunning TT career, achieving six podiums in five years, including three wins, two second places and a third place finish. While Tony successfully rode a range of machines both English and Japanese his place in the affection of the Trident and Rocket 3 Owners Club was sealed when in 1971 he won the Formula 750 TT and finished second in the Production 750 TT against the might of home and oriental factory teams. In 1972 he occupied the second step on the winners rostrum in the F750 TT. Remarkably a year later Tony Jefferies pulled of a win in the 750 Production TT and a third place in the F750 TT, all riding  the Trident three cylinder marvels.

Outside the racing arena Tony, Managing Director of Allan Jefferies Motorcycles, added the BMW franchise in 1971 and in 1973 his race career ended following a serious crash. In 1995 Tony opened a solus BMW showroom in Shipley and in 2010 opened a new state of the art 16,000 sq ft BMW showroom, Tony’s daughter Louise has taken over the day-to-day running of the business. Today, Allan Jefferies is BMW’s longest serving dealer (46 years) and its biggest UK dealer.
